Daily Drawdown
Type: Previous Day High Balance or Equity
Limit set at 5 pm EST
Daily Drawdown
Type: Previous Day High Balance or Equity
Limit set at 5 pm EST
Daily Drawdown
Type: Previous Day High Balance or Equity
Limit set at 5 pm EST
Explanation
All Top One Trader crypto accounts use a daily drawdown based on your previous day high balance or previous day high equity. The system determines this value at 5 pm EST each day.
Your daily loss limit is calculated by taking the higher value of your balance or equity at 5 pm EST and subtracting the allowed percentage. This creates a fixed loss limit for the next trading day.
The limit does not change during the trading day, even if your account balance or equity rises or falls after 5 pm EST.
If your equity reaches the limit at any point, the account breaches the daily drawdown rule.
Daily Drawdown Calculation
- At 5 pm EST the system checks two values:
- Your account balance
- Your account equity
- It takes the higher number and subtracts your daily drawdown percentage.
- This becomes your limit for the entire next day.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Starting balance | 10,000 |
| Daily drawdown | 3% |
Limit for the next day:
Daily limit: 9,700
If your equity touches 9,700 at any time, the account breaches the daily drawdown rule.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Balance | 10,400 |
| Equity | 10,200 |
The system uses the higher number, which is 10,400
New daily limit: 10,088
This limit remains fixed until the next 5 pm EST reset.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Starting balance | 10,000 |
| Daily drawdown | 2% |
Daily limit: 9,800
If your end of day high is 10,500 at 5 pm EST
New daily limit: 10,290
This becomes your fixed limit for the next trading day.
Important Notes
- The daily limit is always based on your highest value at 5 pm EST
- The limit does not move during the trading day
- A breach occurs if your equity touches the limit even for a moment
You may use any EA during the evaluation
Trading must be manual once funded
Trading must be manual only
Explanation
Expert Advisors can be used during the One Step Challenge phase. Traders may run automated strategies, bots, or algorithmic systems while completing the evaluation.
Once an account becomes funded, EA usage is not permitted. Both One Step Funded and Instant Funding accounts must be traded manually. Using an EA on a funded or Instant Funding account is considered a violation of the trading rules.
How EA Usage Works
- Fully allowed during the One Step Challenge
- Not allowed on any funded crypto account
- All trading must be manual after funding
- Using an EA on a funded account may lead to account closure or invalidation of profits
Account closes after 30 days without trading
Funded account closes after inactivity
Account closes after 30 days without trading
Explanation
All crypto account types have a 30 day inactivity limit. If no trades are placed for 30 consecutive days, the account will be closed automatically.
This applies equally to Challenge, Funded, and Instant Funding accounts.
How the Inactivity Rule Works
- A countdown begins each time you stop trading
- The timer resets every time you place a new trade
- If no trades are opened or closed for 30 days, the account is closed
- Closed accounts cannot be reactivated
Highest leverage offered in the crypto program
Applies to every non BTC and non ETH asset
Explanation
Crypto leverage depends on the instrument you trade. Bitcoin and Ethereum receive higher leverage at 1:5. All other crypto instruments trade at 1:2.
Leverage applies equally across all account types including One Step Challenge, One Step Funded, and Instant Funding.
How Leverage Works
- 1:5 leverage allows five times your account size on BTC and ETH
- 1:2 leverage allows double your account size on all other crypto pairs
- Margin requirements adjust automatically based on the asset you trade
- Leverage does not change during challenge or funded phases
Maximum crypto funded allocation
Maximum crypto funded allocation
Explanation
Crypto funded accounts have a maximum capital limit of $200k. This is the highest amount of funded crypto capital a trader can hold at one time.
The limit applies once an account becomes funded. Challenge accounts do not count toward the limit until they are passed and converted into funded accounts.
The $200k max allocation for the Top One Crypto accounts are seperate to the Top One Trader $300k max allocation for forex accounts.
So you could trade up to $300k in Top One Trader funded accounts AND up to $200k in Top One Crypto funded accounts
How Max Capital Works
- You may hold funded crypto accounts up to a total of 200k
- Once you reach 200k in funded crypto allocation, you cannot add additional funded crypto accounts
- You may still trade, take payouts, or upgrade existing accounts
- New challenge accounts can be purchased, but they convert to funded only if you remain under the 200k limit

Max Open Risk
Consistency Rule: No consistency requirement
You can trade freely
Max Open Risk
Consistency Rule: No consistency requirement
No restriction on daily profit distribution
Max Open Risk
Consistency Rule: 25% consistency requirement
Highest profit day cannot exceed 25% of total profits
Explanation
There is no max open risk restriction for any crypto account type. Traders may open and manage trades in any size or combination as long as they stay within the drawdown rules.
The Consistency Rule applies only to Instant Funding accounts. For this program, no single trading day’s profit may exceed 25% of your total accumulated profit for the payout cycle. The rule resets after every payout.
How the Consistency Rule Works
For Instant Funding accounts:
- Track your total profit for the payout period
- Identify your highest profitable day
- Divide the highest profitable day by the total profit
- The result must be 25% or lower in order to qualify for a payout
If the highest profitable day exceeds 25%, the trader must continue trading until the percentage drops to 25% or below.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Total profit | 2,000 |
| Highest profitable day | 600 |
Calculation:
Since 30% is higher than 25%, the trader is not yet eligible for a payout.
If the trader continues trading and increases total profits to 4,000 while keeping the highest profitable day at 600:
This is below the 25% limit, so the trader becomes eligible for a payout.
After a payout
After a payout is processed:
- The consistency counter resets
- The highest profitable day resets
- The 25% rule applies again for the next payout cycle

Max Trailing Drawdown
Type: Trailing until locked
Locks at starting balance
Max Trailing Drawdown
Type: Trailing until locked
Locks at starting balance
Max Trailing Drawdown
Type: Trailing until locked
Locks at starting balance
Explanation
The Maximum Trailing Drawdown acts as a safety limit on your account. It starts based on your initial account balance and trails upward as your account grows.
The drawdown continues to trail your closing balance until you reach a total profit equal to the drawdown percentage. Once that level is reached, the drawdown locks at your starting balance and stops trailing.
After locking, your account will only breach if your equity falls below the original starting balance.
How the Trailing Drawdown Works
- Starting phase. When you begin trading, your trailing drawdown is calculated from your starting balance.
- One Step accounts start with a 6% trailing drawdown
- Instant Funding accounts start with a 5% trailing drawdown
- If your equity reaches this level at any time, the account breaches.
- Trailing phase. As your account grows, the drawdown level moves up with your closing balance. The trailing drawdown continues to move upward until your total profit reaches the full drawdown percentage.
- Locking phase. Once your account reaches a total gain equal to the drawdown percentage:
- 6% gain for One Step accounts
- 5% gain for Instant Funding accounts
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Starting balance | 100,000 |
| Max trailing drawdown | 6% |
| Initial breach level | 94,000 |
- If your account grows to 105,000 – The trailing drawdown moves up to 99,000
- If your account grows to 106,000 – You have reached a 6% total gain – The trailing drawdown now locks at 100,000
From this point on, even if your account grows to much higher levels, the account will only breach if equity drops below 100,000.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Starting balance | 100,000 |
| Max trailing drawdown | 5% |
| Initial breach level | 95,000 |
- If your account grows to 103,000 – The trailing drawdown moves up to 98,000
- If your account grows to 105,000 – You have reached a 5% total gain – The trailing drawdown locks at 100,000
From this point forward, the account only breaches if equity falls below the starting balance.
Important Note
The Maximum Trailing Drawdown works independently from the Daily Drawdown rule. You must always respect both limits. Breaching either rule will result in an account violation.

Each day must reach 0.5% profit
Days do not need to be consecutive
Each day must reach 0.5% profit
Required before payout
Each day must reach 0.5% profit
Required before any withdrawal
Explanation
All Top One Trader crypto accounts require a minimum of five profitable trading days. A profitable day is any day where your closed trades produce at least 0.5% profit based on your initial account balance.
Trading days run from 5 pm EST to the next day at 5 pm EST. Any closed profit inside this window counts for that day. You do not need these days to be consecutive. You only need to complete a total of five.
If a trade is held open for several days, the profit counts only on the day the trade is closed.
What counts as a profitable day
A profitable day is any day where you reach at least 0.5% profit from closed positions.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Starting balance | 10,000 |
| Required profit for one valid day | 50 or more |
If you close trades with a net profit of 50 or higher, that day counts as one profitable day.
What is considered a trading day
A trading day is the 24 hour period from 5 pm EST to 5 pm EST.
How multi day trades are counted
If a position stays open for multiple days, the profit is applied when the trade is closed. It still counts as one profitable day regardless of how long the trade was held.
Do the profitable days need to be consecutive
No. You can complete the five profitable days at any time during the phase.

Disclaimer
By trading during major news events, you acknowledge the risks involved. These risks include slippage, market gaps, delayed executions, and increased volatility.
Top One Trader is not responsible for losses caused by slippage during news events.
During all challenge phases, you may trade news freely. There are no time restrictions around high impact news events.
Funded accounts must follow a restricted news window. You may not execute or close any trade within 5 minutes before and 5 minutes after a high impact news event.
The total restricted window is 10 minutes.
What counts as executing a trade
Executing a trade includes:
- Opening a market order
- Closing a market order
- Opening or closing any pending order
- Modifying a stop loss or take profit
- Placing buy stop or sell stop orders
These actions are not allowed inside the restricted window.
Holding trades during news
You may hold trades during a news event if the position was opened more than 5 minutes before the restricted window.
- If a stop loss or take profit is triggered inside the window, the trade becomes a violation
- Any profit from that trade will be removed and cannot be withdrawn
This counts as a soft breach. Repeated violations may lead to termination of the account.
Exception
If a trade has been open for at least 5 hours before the news event, its stop loss or take profit may activate during the restricted window without causing a violation.
Manual closing inside the window is still prohibited.
High impact news events
Only high impact news events that directly affect the trading pair are restricted.
Low or medium impact news does not apply.
All major United States high impact events affect all trading instruments. Examples include:

- FOMC statements and meetings
- Non farm payrolls
- United States CPI
- Any other high impact US news
If the event is marked as high impact on FXStreet, it falls under the rule

Payouts begin only after funding
Cap applies to all funded crypto accounts

Explanation
Funded and Instant Funding crypto accounts have a monthly payout cap of $15k. This is the maximum amount a trader can withdraw in profits within a single calendar month.
The cap renews at the start of each new month.
Challenge accounts have no withdrawal cap because they do not receive payouts until funded.
How the Withdrawal Cap Works
- You may withdraw up to 15k in profit each calendar month
- The limit applies across all your funded crypto accounts combined
- The cap resets on the first day of each month
- You may continue trading and earning beyond 15k, but excess profits must wait until the next month to be withdrawn

An optional add on removes the 14 day waiting period. With the On Demand upgrade, traders may request a payout at any time as long as they meet all requirements, including the 3% minimum withdrawal.
The One Step Challenge has no payouts until the trader becomes funded.
Base payout cycle; bi-weekly cycle
Without the add-on, traders can request one payout every 14 calender days.
The 3% minimum must be met at the time of request.
The 14 day timer resets after each approved payout.
On Demand add-on upgrade
The On Demand upgrade removes the waiting period.
With this add on:
- You may request a payout immediately after qualifying
- You do not need to wait 14 days
- You still must meet the 3% minimum withdrawal amount
